3 Steps to discovering your passion!
There are two types of teens; the first know from the womb what career they want and the second type is not clear and needs a little direction. Our jobs as parents are to nurture and support you in the career path you want to take. Sometimes we identify right away what you were born to do and there are instances where we are right there with you helping you figure it out. Here are some tips to help you discover your passion.
1. Identify your skills and talents. A skill is something you are trained to do and a talent is something that comes naturally. What are people always saying you do well or you are a natural at something?
2. Visualize yourself older – what are you doing? Do you see yourself in a big corner office somewhere or in a courtroom arguing for your client? Sometimes you have to see it to help you realize this is what you are destined to do.
3. What can you see yourself doing for free? I know someone who is a skilled and talented tailor. He has blessed many people with free suits and tailoring just because he loves to. That is a serious passion!
Once you identify your passion be ready to to research and ask others who are successful in that path for advice. You have your entire life ahead of you – what an exciting time!
With love,
